Do You Know the “Most Famous Dessert” Created in Western New York?
Known as “America’s Most Famous Dessert,” this universally renowned sweet originally came in four flavors – orange, lemon, strawberry, and raspberry. It’s served as part of more elegant confections or all by itself. Although originally invented in 1897 by a carpenter and named by his wife 1897, the product didn’t find true success until the formula was sold to a neighbor. The wife’s name, however, remains with the delightful dish to this day.
