We quivered before the unmarked heavy wooden doors. Their darkness – and the lack of cars in the parking lot – evoked a certain caution. After several rounds of “no, you open it,” we took a deep breath and pressed hard on the right door. Once encouraged, its own momentum propelled it – ever so slowly – open. It didn’t creak like we thought it would. We stepped inside and, with one whiff, all earthly thoughts escaped from our heads. It’s the advantage every bakery has over its distributors – and with distributors like Wegman’s, Tops and Wal-Mart, we’re not talking about some mom and pop bakery here. We’re talking about one of a higher Order.
